Bitcoin Surges Past $81,000, Extending Recent Rally Momentum

On August 25th, Bitcoin continued its upward trajectory, briefly breaking through the $81,000 threshold during trading sessions and returning to levels not seen since May of this year.

Prior to this latest surge, Bitcoin had already successively cleared key psychological barriers at $70,000, $75,000, and $80,000, underscoring the persistence of its rapid recent ascent. The strength in Bitcoin has also lifted the broader cryptocurrency market, with major digital assets such as Ethereum (ETH) and Solana recording synchronized gains.

This round of cryptocurrency appreciation is being driven by a confluence of factors. In recent weeks, declining long-term U.S. Treasury yields and a weakening U.S. dollar have fostered an improved risk appetite among investors. Concurrently, renewed inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, coupled with the forced liquidation of substantial short positions accumulated earlier, have served to amplify Bitcoin's price advances.

On the regulatory front, continued progress on U.S. digital asset market legislation has further strengthened market expectations for a more favorable regulatory environment. However, following this sharp short-term rally, Bitcoin's price volatility has increased noticeably, and whether sustained buying interest can emerge above the $80,000 level remains a key focus for market participants.
