National fitness programs benefit the public. In recent years, Ganzhou District has continuously advanced the expansion and quality improvement of its integrated urban-rural "15-minute fitness circle," adhering to the principles of urban enhancement, rural supplementation, balanced construction and management, and full coverage. Public sports facilities are now comprehensively deployed across urban parks, community streets, and township villages, establishing a convenient fitness network where residents have places to exercise in the morning, venues in the evening, and complete urban-rural coverage, allowing everyone to stay active right at their doorstep.

At dawn, Runquan Lake Park enjoys gentle sunlight and fresh air, with jogging on the trails, equipment stretching, ball games, and group morning exercises all proceeding in an orderly manner. As an urban ecological public welfare wetland cultural park, it is equipped with standard basketball courts, enclosed soccer fields, a 2.1-kilometer lakeside fitness trail, a full set of national fitness paths, and fitness facilities, making it the core venue for residents' morning workouts. Citizens jog and stretch along the lakeside trail, while seniors engage in activities in the fitness zone, exuding health and vitality throughout.

"My home is not far from Runquan Lake Park, just a ten-minute walk. After school or on weekends, I often invite classmates to play basketball here. The court surface is flat, and the facilities are well-maintained, making it very comfortable to play. Having such a convenient fitness venue right at my doorstep is really great. I hope more young people will come out and join in the exercise," said student Zhou Chen.

Zhao Junjian, Deputy Director of the Ganzhou District Natural Protection Center Management Office, stated, "We assign dedicated staff daily to maintain and wipe down the basketball courts and fitness equipment, conduct regular safety inspections for potential hazards, promptly update aging or damaged equipment, continuously improve greening and maintenance levels, and constantly enhance the leisure and fitness service functions. We fully leverage the park's role as a national fitness venue to better meet the diverse fitness and leisure needs of citizens, striving to turn Runquan Lake Park into a high-quality fitness and leisure space that the public loves."

Beyond large parks, fitness venues in urban streets and alleys are also being densified. Around Changshamen Community on East Street, convenient fitness points are fully equipped and well-maintained. By leveraging old residential community renovations and revitalizing corner vacant spaces, standardized fitness equipment has been installed to cover surrounding residents, enabling them to exercise as soon as they go downstairs and engage in daily activities right at their doorstep. Resident Liu Xiaomei commented, "Previously, I had to travel far to exercise, but now there are fitness equipment at the small square near my home. I can work out as soon as I go downstairs, making daily exercise very convenient, and the equipment is also well-maintained."

"The community continuously improves its convenient fitness facilities, conducts routine equipment inspections, cleaning and maintenance, and hazard checks, promptly reporting and repairing damaged equipment. Relying on the 15-minute fitness circle initiative, we achieve nearby, safe, and regular fitness for residents in the jurisdiction, continuously enhancing the public's sense of gain in sports," said Wang Xiaoli, Party Secretary and Director of the Residents' Committee of Changshamen Community, East Street Subdistrict, Ganzhou District.

At dawn and dusk, Wuyun Square serves as a preferred venue for nearby citizens to exercise and relax. The fitness trails, sports and leisure zones, and public fitness equipment effectively cater to the fragmented fitness needs of the public, creating an all-weather fitness model with morning workouts and evening training. Zhang Dequan, Manager of Zhangye Liule Cultural Tourism Development Company, said, "Wuyun Park features a 2.8-kilometer lakeside trail, along with a fitness plaza, children's playground, and smart fitness paths, comprehensively adapting to the fitness needs of all age groups, allowing citizens to participate in exercise right at their doorstep. Daily, we ensure the park's cleanliness and maintenance, creating a clean, safe, and integrated sports-leisure space for citizens. This not only enriches residents' after-hours cultural and sports life but also normalizes national fitness, enhancing the public's sense of well-being."

In recent years, Ganzhou District has adhered to integrated urban-rural development with equal emphasis on construction and management, supplemented by community street points and extended through township village venues, continuously refining the layout of the urban-rural 15-minute fitness circle. In 2025, the district is persistently improving the supply of national fitness venues, actively securing over 4 million yuan in sports lottery public welfare fund projects at various levels, and steadily advancing sports benefit projects. It has completed 12 provincial-level practical projects for the people and 80 municipal-level ones, coordinating the construction of new fitness venues and the update and maintenance of equipment. A total of 23 urban community "15-minute fitness circles" have been established, effectively solving the "last kilometer" problem for residents to exercise and allowing citizens to enjoy the joy of sports at their doorstep.

"Through normalized construction, refined management, and inclusive services, we have effectively addressed the challenge of 'where to exercise' for the public. Next, we will continue to deepen the construction of the public fitness service system, steadily promote the normalized and refined implementation of sports benefit projects, continuously expand and upgrade the '15-minute fitness circle,' and improve a full-coverage, convenient, and inclusive public fitness service system, fully driving the high-quality development of national fitness in the jurisdiction," said Liu Yan, Deputy Director of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Ganzhou District Culture, Sports, Broadcasting, and Tourism Bureau.
