Shares of SINO-OCEAN SERV (06677) rose nearly 6% in early trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 4.23%, trading at HK$0.37. The increase follows the company's recent disclosure of a connected transaction and a discloseable transaction. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, SINO-OCEAN E-HOME, will acquire 191 parking spaces in Beijing from its related party, Beijing Yuanxin, for a total consideration of RMB 31.3334 million. The entire amount will be used to offset an equivalent receivable for a security deposit, with no cash payment involved. According to the announcement, as the original 2022 framework agreement has expired and the related party is facing cash flow constraints, making it difficult to refund the deposit in cash, the company has opted for this asset-for-debt arrangement. The move aims to reduce accounts receivable risk, protect shareholder interests, and will not impact the company's cash flow. The announcement further stated that 139 of these parking spaces are already leased and are expected to generate stable rental income.
