Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Premarket Thursday

Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.1% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.5%.

PepsiCo (PEP) shares were up 0.7% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 core net income and net revenue.

Coupang (CPNG) filed two lawsuits against South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission, seeking to reverse 624.7 billion South Korean won ($466.1 million) in penalties for privacy violations, Seoul Economic Daily and Chosun Biz reported, citing legal sources. Coupang stock was 0.4% lower pre-bell.

Movado (MOV) shares were 0.1% higher after the company said it has agreed to sell a 95% stake in its EBEL luxury watch brand for $66.5 million to a group led by Montres Journe, with participation from Chanel and Pierre Jacques.
