Shares of inTest gained after the company said it expects to report third-quarter results at the high end of its outlook.
The stock rose 10%, to $13.55 in premarket trading Monday. Through Friday's close, shares are up 63% year to date.
The testing-technology provider said Monday that it expects orders for the recent quarter to come in between $48 million and $50 million, marking a 28% to 33% increase from last year and an all-time company record.
The increase in orders is projected to put revenue at the high end of inTest's outlook of $33 million to $35 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expect revenue of $34.2 million.
"The increase in semiconductor demand we anticipated for the second half of the year has materialized, led by record back-end semiconductor orders," Chief Executive Rich Rogoff said. "Demand for our advanced semiconductor test solutions is being driven by customers' capacity expansions that are fueled in part by AI-driven data center demand."
Looking ahead, Rogoff said order activity in the recent quarter strengthened inTest's backlog, positioning the company to finish the year on a high note and carry its momentum into 2027.
InTest expects to report a backlog of $58 million to $60 million as of Sept. 30, up from $45.4 million as of June 30.
